Join The Lady Hoofers Tap Ensemble for a free performance at McMichael Park in East Falls. Dancers will perform company repertoire and improvised works, and audience members will be invited to join in call and response games and to learn the Shim Sham Shimmy, tap dance's International Anthem. Audience members are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets to sit on, to practice social distancing, and to wear a mask when unable to keep distance from others.

After an 18-month closure, the Avenue of the Arts is coming alive once again for an unforgettable event, marking the region’s return to live, in-person arts, and helping to usher in a resurgence of arts and culture for all Philadelphians. Now more than ever, we all need the healing power of artistic performances to unite our community.
Plan to head to the Kimmel Cultural Campus for a diverse sampling of FREE, live performances and fun activities. Plus, connect with local arts organizations about their programs for the upcoming season. As per City of Philadelphia guidelines, masks will be required for all indoors.

This year's festival is a tribute to Grover Washington Jr., featuring The Grover Washington Jr Legacy Tribute band. Other performers include Glenn Bryan and Friends, The Lady Hoofers Tap Ensemble, Denise King and Friends, Chris Aschman and Trinidelphia, TC THE 3RD, and Greg Moore and Actual Proof.

The Lady Hoofers Tap Ensemble presents a public performance in Dilworth Park outside Philadelphia's City Hall as part of The Arts on Center Stage series. The free, 60-minute concert will include company favorites and new repertory performed by the ensemble’s First Company and Apprentice dancers PLUS a work-in-progress preview of "Honeysomethin' Blues," a new work choreographed by Guest Artist Lisa La Touche. This outdoor, socially distanced performance is free to the public thanks to support by Center City District and Philadelphia Cultural Fund.
About The Arts on Center Stage series: Philadelphia’s robust network of arts & culture organizations, large and small, will be celebrated every week as they perform in the center of the city. Shows will range from orchestral serenades and ballet ensembles to jazz instrumentals and beyond. In support of local restaurants, guests are encouraged to dine al fresco with takeout meals from nearby eateries. Cocktails to-go made with Maker’s Mark Bourbon and Michelob Ultra Organic Seltzer will be offered to guests 21 and older, and a special menu will be available at the Air Grille.
CCD Parks requests that individuals experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, or who have come in contact with someone who has tested positive within the past 14 days, refrain from attending.

The Lady Hoofers Tap Ensemble is proud to announce its first public performance in over a year, which will take place at Cherry Street Pier in celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month. The free, 60-minute concert will include company favorites and 3 premieres performed by the ensemble’s First Company and Apprentice dancers. This outdoor, socially distanced performance is free to the public thanks to support by Delaware River Waterfront Corporation.
