Open Auditions
The Lady Hoofers Tap Ensemble is open by audition to women ages 18+ to join our company for the upcoming season.
Interested in joining us? • Complete our online registration form • E-mail a 2-5 minute video clip to us at: info@ladyhoofers.org • See below for additional details Auditions for our 2021-22 season have passed, though we welcome audition videos on a rolling basis. Our next round of onboarding new dancers will be in September 2022. Requirements: Dancers should have a background in rhythm tap and be open to working with live music. Improvisation skills are also plus and special consideration will be given to dancers who can perform our repertoire in high heels. Dancers must submit a resume and headshot as part of their audition. Rehearsals and Performances: Weekly company classes and rehearsals are held on Sunday evenings from 5:00-7:30pm (location for 2021/2022 pending) with additional times scheduled as needed. Performances take place throughout the year at a variety of venues. Rehearsals are unpaid but all dancers accepted into the First Company receive an honorarium for performances. Accepted dancers would be expected to begin attending regularly after Labor Day in September. |

Audition Video Criteria:
• Introduce yourself
• Perform approximately 2 minutes of choreography, acapella or with music. If performing choreography learned from someone else, please credit the choreographer in your introduction. If self-choreographed and/or improvised, please state that as well.
• If you have experience dancing in high heels, please include a second short clip in heels.
• Demonstrate any additional skills as desired.
Note: We are assessing dancers not only for their tap technique, but also use of arms and upper body, and stage presence.

Videos can be sent as an email attachment, Google Drive link, YouTube link, or Vimeo link to info@ladyhoofers.org. Please note: if you are uploading to YouTube, Vimeo, or another public forum, and you are performing someone else's choreography, we recommend selecting "unlisted" for the video so as not to share creative work without permission.
