Sarah Snyder
First Company Dancer | Dance Captain
Sarah Snyder is originally from Annapolis, MD where she first began tapping at age five in the back of her older sister’s class. She studied jazz, tap, ballet, and modern, with a particular love of musical theater—performing in over two dozen musicals by the time she graduated high school. She continued dancing and performing at Vanderbilt University, where she was President and Choreographer of the Off-Broadway theatre group. Since moving to Philadelphia, Sarah has taught tap at Merge Dance Studio in Manayunk, as well as studying and performing with Tap Team Two. Sarah joined The Lady Hoofers in 2015 as an Apprentice and was promoted to First Company in 2019. She has particularly enjoyed the opportunity to learn and perform new works from guest artists Caleb Teicher and Michele Dunleavy. She has also taken master classes with Michelle Dorrance, Jason Samuels Smith, Melinda Sullivan, and Jason Janas. Sarah has a Master’s degree in Social Work from Bryn Mawr College.
