The Lady Hoofers and Mascher Space Co-op participated in the Philly Stake micro-grant event at Christ Church Neighborhood House. We were honored that attendees voted to award us first place funding of $1000 to continue our residency program with Moffet Elementary School's 5th grade students. This is our third year offering free weekly tap classes and shoes to 75+ students in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood.
Philly Stake is a recurring event celebrating locally sourced food and creative community projects; organized completely by volunteers. Stake dinners are seasonal meals sourced from local farms and purveyors. At each dinner, project proposals are presented to the diners. Community members pay a $20 donation for dinner and an opportunity to vote for the project they deem most worthy of funding. These projects aim to contribute to the vitality of Philadelphia in a multitude of innovative ways. Awardees will leave with the dinner proceeds and will present their project at the next meal.
The Lady Hoofers 2nd annual Holiday Concert at Christ Church Neighborhood House featured new choreography, old favorites, live jazz, and vocalists. We were thrilled to welcome back Justin Sekelski on bass, James Santangelo on keys and Khary Shaheed on drums. New this year - first company dancer Deedee Mann shared her vocal talents, and the AMLA Children's Choir joined our Youth Company to present "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."

Over twenty students from seven studios and three states registered for our inaugural Youth Company Auditions. A dozen were selected to perform with The Lady Hoofers at our holiday show on December 6th and 7th at Christ Church Neighborhood House.
Company co-founders Pamela Hetherington and Kat Richter performed to the music of local composer Adam Rose in Mixed Drinks at the Christ Church Community House. The hour-long concert paired local choreographers with local musicians for an evening of interdisciplinary experimentation.
