Philadelphia Women’s Theatre Festival (PWTF) is dedicated to creating opportunities for women in theater. Through this development of female artists, they aim to provide the support and resources to allow both new and prospering voices to be heard in Philadelphia. The Lady Hoofers were honored to be selected for the Opening Cabaret at the 2016 festival where we premiered our live stage version of "Dollar," originally conceived and produced as a short film.
Co-produced by Christine Petrini and Bailey Roper, the Cabaret also featured a preview of songs from Sarah Galante's new musical Hear Me War, and performances by The West Chester Studio Singers, Jen Jaynes, Sarah Gafgen, Peter Andrew Danzig, Therese Walden-Murphy, Aileen Goldberg, Madison Claus, Ariana Sepulveda, Kimberly Redman, Jane Lloyd, Emma Andriatch, and Elexis Morton.
At the invitation of Pennsylvania Ballet, The Lady Hoofers performed at the Kimmel Center as part of PA Ballet's Nutcracker Market. The performance drew a great crowd and featured choreography by Katie Budris, Theresa DiSipio, Becky Mastin, and Kat Richter.
Thanks to BalletX and the EXpand the EXperience program, The Lady Hoofers performed at The Wilma Theater as part of BalletX's home season. We performed a short selection of works by Katie Budris, Kat Richter and Amy Smith with additional staging by Michelle West.
The Lady Hoofers received a grant to produce a show at City Hall during Jazz Appreciation Month as part of City Hall Presents! Dancers Pamela Hetherington, Kat Richter, Katie Budris, and Becky Mastin performed along with a ten student dancers, vocalist Megan Elizabeth and the Jon Katz Quartet.
