Auditions for our fifth season were held on September 13th with additional makeup auditions on September 20th. This was our largest turn out to date, and we were blown away by the talent at both auditions with dancers coming from as far away as New York City.
It was a difficult decision, but in the end, we accepted two new first company dancers and five new apprentices, nearly doubling the size of our returning ensemble! This is shaping up to be our most exciting season yet!
We could not be more pleased to announce that we have received grant funding to produce our first Rhythm Tap Short Film, "Dollar", which will be filmed this fall and will premiere at a special event on February 27th at Community Education Center in Philadelphia! The film is conceived and directed by company member Meg Sarachan and choreographed by company member Becky Mastin with assistance from directors Katie Budris and Kat Richter.
Stay tuned for more information about our filmmaking process and tickets to the Film Premiere Event!
This project is supported by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
THANK YOU PCA for supporting The Lady Hoofers as we strive to raise the bar for rhythm tap in Philadelphia and beyond!
Approximately 50 members of the Doylestown Country Club gathered for a 7 course French themed dinner with wine tasting. Little did they know their dessert course would be served with a side of tap dancing! The Lady Hoofers were thrilled to be the surprise entertainment for the evening, performing a 20 minute set of tap choreography to tunes such as Vive Le Swing, Booty Swing, and Sparkling Diamonds.
